Mr Zaki Chakkiwala, Joint Secretary, FIGSI led FIGSI's presence at the Korea Stone Fair from February 21 -24 at Ilsan, South Korea.
The fair provided an opportunity for FIGSI to strengthen the partnership with our Korean partners and re-connect with stone businesses from around that world as we begin the countdown for STONA 2025 at Bengaluru.
Mr Chakkiwala met with many industry partners from around the world and representatives of the Korea stone industry.
Some highlights from FIGSI's visit at the Korean Stone Fair:
- Korea's Landscape Pioneer and MS Stone Trade CEO, Mr Kim Sang Gi, confirmed he will be attending STONA 2025. We look forward to welcoming him and our business partners for Korea next year.
- Ms Park Jung Sun, President, Ilsan Stone Association confirmed interest in FIGSI Skill Center manpower exchange. Trained Indian students will be offered opportunities in Korea and Korea candidates will be trained at the FIGSI Centres as well.
- Officials of the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute, the pivotal agency governing Korea stone sector policies have sought collaboration with FIGSI for learning about Indian mining and trade policies, and partnership for establishment of a Korean skill center on the lines of FIGSI Centers for Stone Excellence.
- More confirmations on participation and increased global interest as we build towards formally announcing the countdown for STONA 2025 - the biggest stone trade show the global industry is waiting for.
