Granite continues to tell tales of the past, across the universe.

Scientists recently discovered evidence of past volcanic activity on the Moon. When this volcanic activity happened, a colossal granite deposit was formed from the cooling of molten magma. This volcano is estimated to have erupted over 3.5 billion years ago.

A study published in the journal Nature quoted data gathered by two Chinese lunar orbiters, Chang'E-1 in 2010 and Chang'E-2 in 2012, to measure the heat below the surface and came to this conclusion.
