How thick should your stone countertop be?

The answer depends very much on the design & preference, but here's what industry experts & customer feedback says.

  • 3 cm thickness is the gold standard. More durable & usually easier installation.
  • 2 cm thickness is also used. Though it may require support / reinforcements
  • < 2 cm thickness is also available but not as durable, especially for overhangs.

Usually, experts suggester 3cm for kitchen countertops and 2cm with reinforcement or a stone / wooden base for bathrooms.
