I am pleased to connect with you through this correspondence. In these pivotal times for the stone industry, FIGSI has undertaken numerous exciting initiatives and plans for the future.
Our industry embodies resilience, growth, and sustainability, values that we, as a Federation, wholeheartedly represent. Driven by a commitment to overcoming present challenges and shaping a robust future for the industry, we have swiftly initiated efforts aligned with our vision and have hit the ground running.
While challenges undoubtedly exist, the convergence of initiatives and long-term plans to support the ecosystem positions our country to assume a leadership role in the industry.
The Indian natural stone industry is currently experiencing significant shifts in its dynamics, driven by various factors that are reshaping the landscape of the sector. One of the key changes is the increasing adoption of advanced technology and mechanization in stone extraction, processing, and finishing processes. This trend is enhancing efficiency, productivity, and quality standards across the industry, enabling Indian stone manufacturers to compete more effectively in the global market.
Such developments are happening across the global industry, and the therefore sustaining high competitiveness is key. We are also not immune to global market conditions that are highly impacted by world issues like the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel.
That said, FIGSI is not leaving any stone unturned to nurture the ecosystem and help prepare member businesses for the evolving industry that we now work in.
As stewards of this vision, and repeating what I’d mentioned earlier, we invite each of you to actively participate in this journey. Your experiences, ideas, and suggestions form the foundation upon which we can build a stronger, more resilient industry.
